“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever”. Psalm 52:8

New challenges

Desde que nasci fui entregue a ti. Desde o ventre materno és o meu Deus. Salmo 22:10

Eu venci o mundo. (Jesus, citado em João 16:33)

One hundred days with Vitoria!

Mateus 5:22-23; 35-36

Thank you so much, Lord, for these first one hundred days of Vitoria!

Beloved Vitoria, congratulations! God bless you with many and many beautiful days of life!

Three months of life, three months of victories

Will a woman give up the child at her breast, will she be without pity for the fruit of her body? yes, these may, but I will not let you go out of my memory. See, your name is marked on my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:15-16

You, O Lord, will be my light; by you, my God, the dark will be made bright for me.
By your help I have made a way through the wall which was shutting me in; by the help of my God I have gone over a wall. As for God, his way is completely good; the word of the Lord is tested; he is a breastplate for all those who put their faith in him.
Psalm 18:28-30

For who is God but the Lord? or who is a Rock but our God?
God puts a strong band about me, guiding me in a straight way.
He makes my feet like roes' feet, and puts me on high places.
He makes my hands expert in war, so that a bow of brass is bent by my arms.
Psalm 18:31-34

You have given me the breastplate of your salvation: your right hand has been my support, and your mercy has made me great. Psalm 18:35

Today our beloved daughter is turning three months old! Thank to God, these were three months of so much joy, overcoming and victories. She keeps on her battle for life, persistant and fighter, and at the same time so calm and delicate.

We could say her future is uncertain... But we know God has her beautiful name written on the palms of his hands, and her destiny already planned with so much love.
We don´t know exactly what are her abilities and disabilities. There is a high risk of infection due to the exposed encephalic region, and still there is not a real possibility of surgery to protect this area. But any fight is impossible when God is in front of us fighting for us.
During these three months, she faced so many challenges. On her first weeks of life, she suffered of very often vomits due to a severe reflow. She also had infection twice and had to receive antibiotic by a cateter inside a vein very close to her heart. She had to use a cateter with oxygen that hurt her nose. She had to receive blood transfusion six times to correct anemia. But during all those difficulties, she kept strong and gave us surprising answers of recovery.

And, despite of all, she goes on living peacefuly every beautiful day of life God is presenting her.  She goes on winner as her name: Vitoria de Cristo! She lives, fills her lungs of air, sleeps, awakes, tries to lift up in her crib, she cries, she takes hot bathes, she feels the sunshine touching her face, she stays in our arms, she is being breastfed and also she receive massage with oil!

Sometimes I think we live so intensely everyday as if it were our last day with her. Other times I realize we  are so touched and surprised, as if it were the first day we spend with her.
Actually, we have learnt to live everyday as if it were unique. An amazing surprise, a wonderful and incomparable present of life and joy.

We thank God for the so precious life of our daughter and we pray that she lives not only many days or months, but many years of life and victories.

The sun is still shinning!

Mateus 5:44-45
